Why Our Demo Sessions Aren't Free (and Why That's Good for You)
When we tell communities our demo sessions are paid, we occasionally get a raised eyebrow. Most vendors lead with free samples. We think that's exactly backwards — and we'd rather explain why than hide from it.
Free demos are built to be cheap
When a vendor gives sessions away, the economics push in one direction: minimize what the freebie costs. Fewer materials, shorter time, a watered-down version of the real thing. Your residents get the trailer, not the movie — and you make a subscription decision based on it.
Our demo is the movie
A Colorful Living demo is a complete, full-quality session: up to 15 residents, real ceramic bisqueware, the full paint palette, and Denise leading start to finish. Every resident takes home a finished piece. It's identical to what your subscription would deliver, because that's the only honest way to let you evaluate us.
The credit makes it risk-free anyway
Here's the part that matters: when you join any subscription, 100% of your demo fee is credited toward your plan. If you continue with us, the demo effectively cost you nothing. If you don't, you paid a fair price for a genuinely wonderful resident afternoon — full stop, no hard feelings.
What this says about how we work
The demo model is a preview of the partnership. We'd rather be straightforward about pricing than dangle "free" and make it up elsewhere. We'd rather earn a subscription with a real session than a sales pitch. And we'd rather work with communities that value their residents' time the way we do.
A free sample says "we hope you don't look too closely." A full-credit paid demo says "look as closely as you like."
We know which partner we'd rather hire.
